Nation’s No. 1 TE Mark Bowman Commits to Alabama over Georgia Bulldogs, Notre Dame and Ohio State Buckeyes in Highly Contested Decision.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama has landed a major addition to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of Mark Bowman, the nation’s No. 1 ranked tight end, in a move that further solidifies the Crimson Tide’s reputation as a powerhouse for elite talent.

Bowman, a 6-foot-6, 245-pound standout from Chandler High School in Arizona, made his announcement via social media on Saturday afternoon, choosing Alabama over Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas.

“I’m beyond excited to announce that I’m 100% committed to the University of Alabama,” Bowman wrote. “Roll Tide!”

Known for his rare combination of size, speed, and route-running ability, Bowman has drawn comparisons to former Alabama star and current NFL standout O.J. Howard. During his junior season, he recorded 64 receptions for 1,012 yards and 13 touchdowns, dominating both as a receiver and a blocker.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer praised Bowman’s decision, calling him “a complete player with the mindset and physicality to make an immediate impact in the SEC.”

Bowman becomes the fifth five-star commit in Alabama’s 2025 class, which currently ranks No. 2 nationally, just behind Ohio State. With Bowman on board, Alabama gains a dynamic offensive weapon and a potential cornerstone for the Tide’s future offensive schemes.

Recruiting analysts say Bowman’s decision continues Alabama’s strong recruiting momentum and demonstrates the program’s enduring appeal to top-tier athletes.

Bowman is expected to enroll early in January 2026.
