Durham, NC – April 30, 2025 — In a major announcement that has fans and basketball enthusiasts buzzing, the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball program is teaming up with streaming giant Netflix for a first-of-its-kind docuseries. The series will offer an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at one of the most iconic programs in college basketball history, spotlighting its storied past, present transformation, and promising future under head coach Jon Scheyer.

Slated for release in early 2026, the multi-episode series will dive deep into the legacy of Duke basketball — from the championship years under legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski to the evolution of the team under his successor, Scheyer, who took the helm in 2022. With full access to practices, locker rooms, and team meetings, the docuseries promises to offer raw, unfiltered insight into the lives of players, coaches, and staff both on and off the court.

“We are incredibly excited to share our journey with the world,” said Coach Jon Scheyer in a statement. “This is not just about basketball. It’s about the culture, the commitment, the growth, and the human stories behind the jersey. Netflix is the perfect partner to tell that story with authenticity and depth.”

The project is being produced by Boardwalk Pictures, the award-winning production company behind acclaimed sports documentaries like Cheer, The Last Chance U, and Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Early reports indicate that the series will combine archival footage, exclusive interviews, and never-before-seen moments from the current and upcoming seasons.

Netflix executives say the collaboration marks a new chapter in its sports-focused storytelling. “Duke Basketball is not only one of the most successful programs in NCAA history, but it’s also a brand known around the world,” said Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series. “Our audience craves compelling, character-driven narratives — and there’s no shortage of those at Duke.”

The timing of the docuseries aligns with a critical period of transition and reinvention for the Blue Devils. After decades of dominance under Coach K, Scheyer has brought a fresh energy to the program, emphasizing player development, modern strategies, and a renewed focus on leadership and team unity. With a roster full of top recruits and NBA prospects, Duke remains a perennial powerhouse, making the series a must-watch for fans and scouts alike.

The announcement has already generated significant buzz across social media and college basketball circles. Alumni, current players, and fans are expressing excitement over the chance to witness the inner workings of the program that has produced numerous NBA stars and national titles.

Production is already underway, and the series is expected to debut globally on Netflix in the first quarter of 2026. With the backing of Netflix’s global platform and Duke’s legendary reputation, the docuseries is poised to become a landmark moment in college sports media.
